IPhT courses exist in their present form since 1996. Since 2012, they have been organized by Riccardo Guida and Sylvain Ribault. Notable evolutions of the last few years include:

  • A dedicated website.
  • Filming courses.
  • Yearly Doodle surveys for testing the popularity of course proposals.
  • Inviting speakers to have lunch at the cafeteria with listeners after each lecture.

The organizing team has recently changed and is now composed of Riccardo Guida and Marco Schiró, who volunteered to join.

Friday, May 4, 2018 - 13:23

The second lecture by Rémi Monasson on Neural networks will not take place on Tuesday 15 May as originally planned. The next lecture will be on Friday 18 May, the original date for the third lecture. The missed lecture might be replaced at a later date.

Wednesday, April 25, 2018 - 10:25

Dear all,

We are still looking for ideas for next year's IPhT courses. There is still one week left (until May 2nd) for sending your ideas, or for making your ideas more precise: proposing a topic if you already suggested a speaker, and vice versa.

Best,

Riccardo Guida and Sylvain Ribault

Wednesday, April 11, 2018 - 22:40

The fourth IPhT course of this academic year will start on Friday 4 May at 10:00, with the first of 6 lectures by Rémi Monasson on "Unsupervised neural networks: from theory to systems biology". For the abstract and further details, see the course's web page.

The lectures are open to all: students, postdocs and researchers, whether IPhT members or outsiders. Do not hesitate to recommend them to anyone who might be interested.

Thursday, April 5, 2018 - 14:17

Dear all,

We are starting planning the IPhT courses for the academic year 2018-2019.

Could you please give us your suggestions of potential topics and lecturers by May 2nd? To do this, please reply to this email.

For a given topic, you can suggest, zero, one, or several possible lecturers. Suggested lecturers may be yourselves, colleagues from IPhT, or people from outside.

Best,

Riccardo Guida and Sylvain Ribault

PS: If someone is interested in joining the organization committee, please contact us.
